What these numbers mean

A visit is counted when a page is opened. An estimate is counted after a result is completed, whether from a home description, the manual household form or known usage. Counts may include repeat visits and repeat estimates by the same person.

Stats are a simple picture of tool use, not a claim about money saved or the accuracy of any individual estimate.

The useful number is yours

If you want a household estimate, start with annual kWh from your bill if available. If not, describe your home or use the manual form. You will see the assumed usage, cost breakdown and a range where usage is uncertain.

Are these unique visitors?

No. The visit count is an anonymous aggregate of page visits and can include repeat visits.

Are estimates stored here?

No. Only an aggregate count is displayed, not individual descriptions or results.

Does a failed estimate count?

No. The estimate counter is incremented only after a result is completed.
